PURPOSE:
Arts On The Creek (AOTC) is a 2-day, outdoor, juried festival showcasing the work of professional artists, emerging artists and fine crafters from the Southern states (Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee.) Emerging artists are those who have shown their work in fewer than 10 juried shows or exhibitions.
Set on the highly visible front lawn of the beautiful grounds of Perimeter Church, the festival kicks off the fall season in the prosperous City of Johns Creek, which boasts a very strong business and residential community focused on quality lifestyle, family, education and business. This festival is dedicated to bringing together outstanding Fine Artists and Crafters.
AOTC is produced by a highly qualified staff assisted by two professional event planners with multiple years experience in event production and participation and a strong pool of volunteers. This is the fifth year of an annual Labor Day Weekend event, and the fourth year for the Artists’ Market. The leadership team is committed to delivering a successful experience for artists, sponsors and patrons. The venue provides ample parking for artists and patrons and will be situated in a highly visible and accessible location, affording artists an easy load-in/load-out with the ability to drive up to their booths.
Accepted emerging artists may rent their tent through a company that has generously offered our artists a reduced rental fee.
This year AOTC has tripled it's advertising budget, and the festival is publicized and promoted throughout the Greater Atlanta area and especially the wealthy North Atlanta suburbs. The city of Johns Creek has the highest per capita income in all of Georgia.
In 2011, the area businesses (including major Corporations and Companies) have committed to purchasing fine original artwork through “Purchase Awards.”
ITEMS OF INTEREST:

ARTISTS’ and FINE CRAFTERS' PARTICIPATION:
Artists and Crafters accepted for participation MUST be in attendance during the entire festival. Only one artist and crafter may display per booth unless the work produced is a collaboration of two artists. Both artists must sign this application and be present during entire festival. No agents, dealers, or representatives may attend in place of the artist(s). Work produced by apprentices or employees is unacceptable. All participating artists and crafters will be required to show a Photo ID upon check-in. By applying to the AOTC, artist agrees to abide by the rules, policies, and decisions of the AOTC Staff and Committee. Submission of this application is regarded as a commitment to exhibit and adhere to the rules set forth in this application.
Buy-sell WILL NOT BE PERMITTED in the Artists Market and AOTC reserves the right to request that participants who do not follow the rules be asked to remove those items. Please be sensitive to the family-orientation of this festival and refrain from displaying works of a questionable nature (pornographic, obscenity, violence.)
APPLICATION PROCESS:
Artists may apply only once to a category/medium. Artists and Crafters may apply for more than one category/medium, but a separate on line application must be completed for each and each application must include its own set of images and application fees by the required deadline.
DIGITAL IMAGE REQUIREMENTS:
Your application submission must be accompanied by four (4) digital images of your artwork and one (1) digital image of your booth. Digital images must be current and show artwork completed within the past two years. Digital image quality is essential and can make a difference in your acceptance. The jury has only your digital images with which to judge your work. The best image is one that is full framed with the artist's single work, is well lit and is representative of the body of work intended for exhibition. Your booth image should show your booth as it is set up for exhibition at an outdoor show, but without the artist’s or crafter's name, banners, title of artwork or people visible in the digital image or image title, so as to remain anonymous to jurors. It should contain all work to be exhibited since it stands as a visual contract between you and AOTC. Failure to follow the digital image requirements will result in disqualification.
AOTC reserves the rights to use submitted images for publicity and affirmation purposes before, during and after the event. AOTC will jury during the show to qualify artists and crafters for the following year.
ARTIST RULES & STANDARDS:
AOTC is designed for artists and crafters who create and execute original, professional quality work. AOTC’s Staff and Committee WILL monitor the show for misrepresentation and to ensure compliance with the rules and standards. Artists and Crafters WILL be required to remove all work that is questionable and/or not in compliance. Continued violation of the rules or failure to cooperate with AOTC’s Staff and Committee WILL result in expulsion from the show and ineligibility for future shows.

JURY PROCESS & WAIT LIST:
Approximately 150 combined artists and crafters will be selected to exhibit through a blind jury process. Exhibitors are selected on the basis of design, quality, originality and presentation as determined by an independent jury of art professionals with knowledge and experience in multiple art disciplines. Artists and crafters are juried by category, with each artist’s and crafter's images viewed sequentially on a monitor. After all images are viewed and discussed, each artist and crafter is then assigned a score. Those with the highest scores per category will be invited to participate. A limited number of artists and crafter per category will be accepted to provide a balanced show. In addition, a score-based wait list will be maintained in each category with cancellations filled from that list. The jury process is done anonymously and the decision of the jury is final.
NOTIFICATIONS:
Notifications will be emailed to artists and crafters on June 1, 2010. No notifications will be issued by phone, fax or US mail. Invited artists and crafters must purchase booth spaces by the June 15, 2010 deadline. Artists and crafters who fail to meet this payment deadline will forfeit their space.
